Electrical Controls Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, program, and commission advanced control systems for our high-tech packaging machines across in-house sites and customer sites worldwide. You will manage the full automation lifecycle from software development to commissioning, ensuring quality, safety, and performance. You will build operator interfaces and monitor production data to optimize efficiency. You will work in an international team on leading packaging technology, contributing to scalable and reliable solutions. Responsibilities

• Program and commission packaging machines, in-house and on customer sites
• Develop operator interfaces and display terminals to monitor and optimize production data
• Design control systems in accordance with electrical and safety standards
• Perform risk analyses and evaluate safety-related functions
• Generate electrical bills of materials to support procurement and project execution

Key requirements

• Experience with PLC programming using Ladder Logic, FBD, or Structured Text (Rockwell, Beckhoff)
• HNC or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of power and control circuits
• Ability to produce 2D electrical wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or EPLAN
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Practical, hands-on engineering experience
• Key qualities: team player, structured and efficient, adaptable in international environment
• Willing to travel occasionally domestically and internationally (valid passport and driving licence)
