Business Development Specialist

Overview

In this role you help grow Bechtel’s UK Public Infrastructure business by supporting market analysis, opportunity pipelines, and pursuit management. You’ll work with the M&BD team to shape client-facing proposals and coordinate cross-functional inputs for major initiatives. The position provides exposure to strategic, commercial and financial drivers behind winning major infrastructure work. This is an early-career opportunity to develop BD capability within a global, values-driven firm that operates across markets.

Responsibilities

• Research target markets, customers, competitors, partners in the UK Public Infrastructure sector and turn insights into engagement actions
• Maintain regional opportunity pipeline, prospect records and management reports for governance reviews
• Support stakeholder plans and preparations for meetings with prospects and customers
• Assist with proposals, pitches, client briefings, and pursuit materials coordinating across functions
• Coordinate New Work Booked inputs and quarterly updates to FP&A and senior management
• Manage budgets for prospect engagements and ensure spend aligns with allocations
• Support the M&BD team to achieve regional growth targets and disciplined multi-priority execution

Key requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Research, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Good organisation and ability to coordinate multiple priorities
• Strong collaboration and people skills across functions
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest in strategy, commercials and infrastructure BD
• Based in or able to work from London and eligible to work in the UK
• Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred; formal education requirement not strictly stated
