Category Manager – Software

Overview

In this role you will own the software procurement portfolio within a Financial Services context, driving strategic sourcing from business need to contract award. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable savings and commercial value. You’ll lead end-to-end IT sourcing and tender programmes, shaping category strategies and roadmaps. This position offers impact through cross-functional collaboration and governance-driven procurement in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver category strategies
• Lead complex end-to-end IT sourcing and tender programmes
• Build category pipelines and procurement roadmaps
• Develop sourcing strategies and commercial approaches
• Lead supplier engagement, evaluation and negotiations
• Deliver savings, value and wider commercial benefits
• Partner with and influence senior stakeholders
• Support new procurement systems and processes where required

Key requirements

• Established Category Manager able to independently lead complex sourcing programmes
• Experience in Software category is a must
• End-to-end strategic sourcing and Category Management
• Regulated or highly governed environments
• Comfortable leading tenders independently and influencing senior stakeholders
• UK-based with current/valid UK right to work (RTW) and hybrid working availability
