Senior Programme Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead major capital investment programmes with a strong Process Engineering focus, shaping critical infrastructure for customers and communities. You will provide technical leadership across process activities, manage risk and governance, and drive commissioning and handover to operations. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Delivery partners to deliver measurable performance improvements, safety, and sustainability. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused opportunity to influence long-term operational excellence within a major sector client.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex capital programmes and project portfolios
• Provide technical leadership and assurance across process engineering activities
• Manage programme risk, cost, schedule, governance and performance
• Ensure successful commissioning, process proving and operational handover
• Build relationships with Operations, Engineering, Commercial and Delivery partners
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Lead and develop high-performing project and engineering teams
• Champion safety, wellbeing and sustainability

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Process Engineering within water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure or industrial processes
• Proven track record delivering large-scale capital projects or programmes
• Strong understanding of process design, optimisation, commissioning and operational performance
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and influencing senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial, risk management and programme governance capability
• Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, chartership or progress towards chartership desirable
