Product Security Engineer

Overview

As a Product Security Engineer you will apply systems engineering skills with a security focus to design robust, tamper-resistant missile/weapon systems. You will work across hardware, firmware and software domains to deliver secure life-cycle protections and support Customer through-life capabilities. The role involves coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, engaging with the UK Customer, and shaping the security case to ensure operational advantage. This is a technically challenging, diverse role in a mission-driven Defence environment with opportunities to contribute to critical security outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Package and manage security-focused tasks across multidisciplinary teams to deliver a comprehensive technical security solution within time and budget.
• Trade-space analysis to maximise protective measures without compromising safety or customer capabilities.
• Prepare and maintain a robust security case and collaborate with the UK Customer and advisers to validate solutions.
• Lead and integrate system design across hardware, firmware, and software to demonstrate effective security outcomes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and support teams to maintain confidentiality and integrity during manufacture and through-life support.
• Enforce Need to Know controls and direct information release to suppliers and customers when required.

Key requirements

• Ability to listen, evaluate and resolve technical issues while protecting MBDA’s reputation.
• Strong Systems Engineering background; experience in electronics design and/or embedded software/firmware desirable.
• Knowledge of Product or Systems Security desirable.
• DV clearance or willingness to undergo the DV process.
