Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)

Overview

As a Data Center Project Manager, you drive and oversee critical infrastructure projects in AWS data centers, coordinating electrical, mechanical, and building systems. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to improve space, power, and cooling utilization while ensuring safety and efficiency. You’ll own scope, schedule, and budget, delivering high-quality turns with a focus on data center resiliency and operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Oversee construction-related activities for upgrading or replacing data center infrastructure
• Own project scope, timeline, and budget for initiatives
• Provide project management for resiliency-focused initiatives
• Electrical design and review for optimization of existing facilities
• Review construction/project packages and drawings
• Create project scope, RFPs, and capital requests
• Develop commissioning plans and oversee execution
• Record and report project metrics to team and management
• Support operations through procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment/electrical failures
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure quality turnovers
• Be a leader within the group and cross-functional teams

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in vendor management
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment
• Experience in data center engineering or operations
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Preferred: Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License or operating engineering license (DC II, DC III, or equivalent)
• Experience in construction or project management
