Senior In Year Financial Control and Reporting Analyst

Overview

In this role, you will strengthen financial governance, reporting and control across the CDIO portfolio within SSD. You’ll work with Finance Management, partners and HR to deliver timely management information and drive continuous improvement. AUC asset accounting or workforce reporting will be a focus, contributing to project and system initiatives like the Unity Programme. You’ll combine analysis, collaboration and clear communication to support decision-making and assurance.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate financial reporting, control and assurance across the CDIO portfolio
• Lead asset assurance, AUC capitalisation and related audit responsibilities (asset-focused role) or focus on workforce reporting and Unity Programme support (alternative role)
• Consolidate FTE and contingent labour reporting, including variance analysis and data validation
• Ensure testing and user acceptance for system changes; contribute to testing efforts
• Assist in transitioning financial and FTE reporting to new system structures and tools
• Provide financial insights to budget, forecast and performance reporting; drive continuous improvement and automation
• Collaborate with HR, Resource Managers and Finance Business Partners to sustain strong governance and relationships
• Conduct balance sheet reviews and coordinate audit evidence collection

Key requirements

• Part-qualified CCAB accountant (including CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, ACA) or equivalent professional finance qualification
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong financial systems knowledge and understanding of underlying processes
• Confident communicator able to explain financial information clearly
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and reporting
