Commercial Solicitor

Lawyerly is a commercial law firm providing subscription and fixed-fee legal services to small and medium-sized businesses. Our clients treat us as their in-house legal team, and we act for them across the full range of their commercial needs. We do not bill by the hour, so there are no timesheets and no billable-hour targets.

We are looking for a solicitor with sound judgement, a practical approach and an interest in how legal services are delivered. You will run your own client matters, build lasting client relationships and work closely with a small team.

The role

• Advising SME clients on commercial contracts, corporate matters, compliance, employment, intellectual property and commercial leases
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements and client documents
• Identifying risk early and advising clients before issues arise
• Acting for clients across a wide range of industries

About you

• Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate
• 5+ years’ PQE
• A commercial generalist, comfortable moving between areas of law
• Confident running matters independently while working as part of a team
• Able to explain legal points clearly and without unnecessary jargon
• Comfortable using AI tools, such as Claude, in your day-to-day work

Useful but not essential

• Experience in commercial property or corporate work

• £95,000
• 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
