The role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cypress Automation Tester to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for modern web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cypress, JavaScript/TypeScript, API testing, and CI/CD integration, with a focus on delivering high-quality software through automation-first testing practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust automated test scripts using Cypress.
- Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Automate API validation and backend service testing.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams for resolution.
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and automation documentation.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, defect triage, and retrospectives.
- Continuously improve automation frameworks, coding standards, and testing best practices.
- Support release validation and production readiness activities.
Key Skills/Knowledge
- Strong hands-on experience with Cypress Automation Framework
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience in UI and End-to-End (E2E) testing
- API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools
- Test automation framework design and maintenance
- Experience with Git/GitHub and version control practices
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or Azure DevOps
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Familiarity with SQL and database validation
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Jest
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Experience in BFSI, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets domains
- Performance and accessibility testing knowledge
