This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced economic development professional with a strong interest in digital innovation and transformation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a range of digital programmes and initiatives designed to support businesses, social enterprises, education providers and local residents.
About you
- A degree or equivalent qualification OR at least 4 years’ relevant experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working across a range of economic development activities
- Demonstrable experience of delivering digital programmes
- Good planning and project management skills
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
- A creative and innovative approach to service improvement
- Competence in Microsoft Office and Windows applications
Desirable:
- Experience managing externally funded programmes
- Experience working with external funding bodies and managing grant-funded projects
- Experience of working with businesses, education providers, government departments or other external stakeholders
What you’ll do
- Supporting the project management and delivery of the Northern Ireland Digital Transformation Project (Digital Surge)
- Leading the design, implementation and project management of digital advancement initiatives across the Council area
- Working directly with businesses to identify digital transformation needs and support project development and funding opportunities
- Developing and managing new digital support initiatives for businesses, residents, schools and colleges
- Developing content and overseeing the delivery of innovative business events, workshops and consultations
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for external grant funding
- Monitoring and evaluating funded projects, including conducting verification visits where required
- Supporting the development and implementation of annual Economic Development business plans
- Supporting marketing campaigns associated with key programmes and initiatives
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with Government departments, local authorities, businesses, education providers and other stakeholders
