King’s is looking to appoint a general catering assistant to work within a team of 38 staff in the catering department. Working in a modern well-equipped environment this position assists the delivery of lunches to over 1750 people on a daily basis during term time and regular school functions throughout the term.
This is a term time only role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
The successful candidate should have:
- the ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, pressurised kitchen environment whilst maintaining high standards
- good communication skills with an approachable manner – contact with pupils and staff is on a daily basis and maintaining open communication is essential
- experience of catering is desirable, but full training can be provided
- basic knowledge of food hygiene would be an advantage, but full training can be offered
- an understanding of allergy awareness is preferred along with level 2 food hygiene training, but full training will be provided (desirable)
