Project Controller

Overview

In this Project Controller role, you will support delivery of project elements and programmes, monitor performance KPIs, and ensure timely, accurate data and reporting. You’ll work with project teams on national and international initiatives across diverse sectors, while developing processes and controls to improve project management. You’ll be mentored by industry leaders to build a solid foundation for career progression in a growing Places business. This position combines data analysis, governance, and cross-functional collaboration to drive project success and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver elements of projects or contribute to overall programmes
• Monitor and escalate project management KPIs and performance metrics
• Communicate compliance issues and ensure timely data collection, analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with project teams on national and international projects across multiple sectors
• Produce basic project plans and schedules and monitor financial information for anomalies
• Independently collate and interpret data to prepare project plans and schedules
• Analyze data and trends to support senior decision making with simple recommendations
• Monitor and evaluate existing project management processes to identify improvements
• Complete complex tasks, prioritise workload, and interpret policies to support PM functions
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide advisory support and align policy with practice

Key requirements

• Relevant business experience, including experience supporting large and complex projects
• Good communication skills and ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues
• Commercial awareness and organizational understanding
• Logical thinking to coordinate multi-faceted projects
• Self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently
• Proficiency in using relevant software and systems
