- 1. Receive, process and record DoLS referrals, applications and associated documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- 2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on electronic case management systems.
- 3. Monitor workflow activity and statutory timescales and bring potential delays or issues to the attention of managers.
- 4. Coordinate the administrative allocation of assessments and related activity as directed by the Advanced Practitioner.
- 5. Liaise with Best Interests Assessors, Mental Health Assessors, advocacy services, care providers and partner agencies to arrange assessments and obtain required information.
- 6. Support arrangements for advocacy, representatives and relevant correspondence, ensuring required information is provided to individuals and their representatives in accordance with statutory requirements.
- 7. Provide information regarding DoLS processes and procedures to practitioners, providers, service users, families and partner agencies.
- 8. Prepare standard correspondence, documentation and reports relating to DoLS activity.
- 9. Assist with the collection and collation of performance information and management reports.
- 10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, national policy developments and best practice relating to deprivation of liberty.
- 11. Maintain accurate records of approved Best Interests Assessors, Mental Health Assessors and other commissioned professionals involved in the DoLS process.
- 12. Support responses to complaints, audits, inspections, Freedom of Information requests and data requests by gathering and providing information.
- 13. Assist in maintaining records relating to authorisations, assessments, renewals and reviews.
- 14. Process invoices and undertake routine financial administration in accordance with council procedures.
- 15. Support the review and updating of local procedures, guidance documents and administrative systems.
- 16. Arrange and coordinate DoLS review meetings and related administrative activity where required.
- 17. Provide administrative support to meetings relating to the DoLS service, including preparation of papers, note taking and action tracking where required.
- 18. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with information governance, GDPR and council policies.
- 19. Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to support the efficient operation of the DoLS service.
- 20. Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and person‑centred practice in all aspects of work.
- 21. Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
- 22. Work flexibly across the service to support operational priorities and service continuity.
