Tunnel Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will develop technical solutions for TBM projects, focusing on tunnel services, power distribution, ventilation, water management, dewatering, and related systems. You will coordinate with surface infrastructure providers and contribute to plant integration and equipment specification to meet production needs. You’ll support procurement, subcontractor evaluation, planning, and cost estimating to ensure project delivery. Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions for tunnel services (pipes, duct, cables, brackets, pedestrian access, conveyor, survey, communication, traffic)
• Design and size plant/equipment for TBM production output; prepare TBM works method statements
• Coordinate with surface infrastructure providers and oversee plant integration (gantry cranes, service vehicles, grout plant, conveyors)
• Prepare production cycles and equipment sizing to meet output targets
• Provide input to procurement for subcontractor and supplier contracts; assist in evaluation of offers
• Contribute to planning and cost estimating activities for the project
• Prepare plant/equipment specifications and support documentation

Key requirements

• TBM work experience minimum 5 years
• Participation in definition of plant and equipment for a TBM project
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems for a tunnel project
