Senior/ Principal Power System Engineer – PLEXOS & Power System Specialist

Overview

As a Power Systems Consultant at WSP, you will lead PLEXOS-based studies and other power system analyses to support the energy transition. You’ll deliver high-quality technical solutions, write and review reports and proposals, and nurture client relationships to secure future work. You’ll collaborate with across the Power Systems Team to drive impactful projects for a decarbonised grid. This role offers hands-on leadership, technical excellence, and opportunities to shape landmark energy projects globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead PLEXOS-based power systems studies (capacity expansion, market modelling, generation optimization, resource adequacy)
• Deliver diverse studies including load flow, dynamic stability, harmonic analysis, protection coordination, and grid connection support
• Write and review technical reports and proposals; bid for projects; maintain client relationships
• Provide technical and project management leadership; ensure quality of deliverables
• Develop and deliver project proposals; identify multidisciplinary opportunities
• Lead on PLEXOS excellence and contribute experience with other power systems software (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, IPSA, CDEG)
• Support and train team members; engage with clients directly to build relationships
• Collaborate with experts across WSP to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization
• Experience in power systems consulting
• Network of industry contacts and clients
