Senior Software Developer

Overview

In this role you will help drive quality and reliability across Andor’s software and driver portfolio. You will work in the Software and Driver Development Team to shape test strategy, support product requirements, and assist customers and manufacturing. You’ll blend software QA with development work to deliver high‑quality scientific products for researchers and industry. This is a hands‑on role at the Belfast HQ with a hybrid work model, offering meaningful impact in a leader in imaging and spectroscopy. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to enable robust, accessible solutions for complex scientific problems.

Responsibilities

• Extend and enhance Andor’s software and driver portfolio
• Define and implement quality and test strategy
• Manage product requirements
• Develop test cases and test plans from system requirements
• Support customers and manufacturing
• Participate in the product development lifecycle from requirements to release

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Software QA and/or Software development
• Experience with source control
• Object oriented design using industry standard techniques and tools
• Proficient at developing test cases and test plans
• Proficient at scripting and programming
• Experience in the product development lifecycle from requirements gathering to test and support
