Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the design and development of mechanical systems for a growing medical device. You will work with 3D CAD and hands-on prototyping, guiding concepts from idea to implementation. You’ll collaborate on electromechanical and system projects within a regulated environment, clearly documenting decisions and maintaining cross-functional alignment. This is an opportunity to expand beyond pure mechanical design and influence product development and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and prototypes using 3D CAD
• Hands-on testing with the product to validate ideas and solve technical problems
• Own projects and collaborate on wider electromechanical and system development
• Document design work clearly within a regulated environment

Key requirements

• Mechanical engineering background with design experience
• Proficient in SolidWorks or another 3D CAD package
• Understanding of how mechanical designs interact with electronics and wider systems
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership of projects
• Knowledge of pressure systems, pipework, valves or pumps would be advantageous
