Overview
In this role you support the development of alcoholic beverages, functional drink ingredients, and innovative products by delivering analytical testing and data-driven insights in a modern lab. You will work with cross-functional teams to enable new product development while ensuring QA and regulatory compliance. The position offers a hands-on laboratory environment, exposure to a range of analytical techniques, and opportunities to contribute to audits and quality systems. Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing across beverage, ingredient and product development projects
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation including GC, UV-Vis and refractometry
- Analyse data, identify trends and root causes
- Support new product development through analytical testing and investigation
- Troubleshoot methods and equipment issues
- Produce technical reports and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support GLP, ISO 17025, GMP and COSHH compliance and internal audits
- Provide analytical support to QA and NPD teams
- Ensure safe working practices in line with Health & Safety procedures
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline
- Experience in an analytical laboratory environment
- Hands-on experience with GC, UV-Vis, refractometry, and HPLC
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical report writing and communication abilities
- Experience in food, beverage, ingredients, pharmaceutical, environmental or chemical sectors is advantageous
