Project Controls – Senior Planner

Overview

In this Senior Planner role, you will strengthen Gleeds’ project controls for infrastructure programmes. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and analyse schedules, risk, and performance, ensuring alignment with broader programme goals. You’ll drive rolling-wave planning, critical path analysis, and earned value exploration to inform decisions. Responsibilities

• Undertake rolling-wave planning and resource loading for assigned projects
• Create and track schedules using input from teams; perform risk exploration
• Conduct detailed network logic and critical path analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve path and network conflicts
• Run what-if scenarios for employee program management
• Perform schedule variance analysis against baselines
• Support earned value analysis for assigned programs
• Maintain scheduling procedures and ensure integration across finance, engineering, materials, manufacturing, and quality
• Utilise Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and EVM to monitor progress and identify variances
• Promote understanding of network logic and schedule concepts across stakeholders

Key requirements

• Previous major projects experience with ability to support multiple live projects and tender programmes
• Experience in project controls with a planning focus, ideally in a consultancy
• Primavera P6 experience; Asta Powerproject and MSP are beneficial
• Strong Excel skills for dashboards and data visualization linked to P6
• Knowledge of Gantt, milestone charts, earned value management
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate findings effectively
