Continuous Improvement Engineer

Overview

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer in our Stonehouse Operations team, you will drive and deliver site-wide improvement initiatives, aligning local actions with global CI strategies. You will identify opportunities to cut waste, boost efficiency and support project delivery, enabling teams to focus on delivering better health outcomes. You’ll train and guide colleagues, build cross-functional relationships and promote a safe, compliant, data-driven culture. This role offers the chance to shape the site’s continuous improvement trajectory within a global life sciences company.

Responsibilities

• Identify CI and cost-saving opportunities and coordinate implementation plans to deliver measurable results
• Align local and global continuous improvement strategies
• Design, coordinate and lead CI training across the site
• Provide guidance to ensure processes are effective, robust and consistently applied while reporting on progress
• Identify and prioritise Lean projects across the business, present solutions and deliver improvements
• Define, develop and maintain business improvement process documentation
• Carry out business process and statistical analysis to support improvement projects and wider change initiatives
• Lead site improvement activities when required
• Build strong relationships across all departments to support collaboration and optimise performance
• Promote a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace in line with procedures and regulations
• Keep up to date with technology developments impacting Lean and CI practices

Key requirements

• Experience leading CI projects within a regulated manufacturing or production environment, ideally pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical
• Ability to identify, analyse and resolve technical problems effectively
• Practical, hands-on problem solving in an engineering setting
• Disciplined and well-organised approach to documentation (plans, drawings, design reviews, test methods)
• Experience working with ISO requirements and other relevant guidelines and regulations
• Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
