Senior/Lead Data Scientist

Overview

In this Senior/Lead Data Scientist role, you will drive production-grade ML solutions within a major UK digital business undergoing a Data & AI transformation. You’ll work to deliver measurable business impact by bridging technical delivery with business needs. The role focuses on real commercial problems, not just research, and sits within a team scaling data science capabilities. You will deploy solutions in production, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and shape the data-driven transformation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production ML models at scale that drive business outcomes
• Work on churn prediction, customer segmentation, Next Best Action and time series forecasting use cases
• Contribute to end-to-end ML pipelines, MLOps practices, and CI/CD in Databricks environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions
• Leverage Python, SQL and Databricks to build, validate and operationalize models

Key requirements

• Strong Python experience
• Databricks exposure
• Production ML / MLOps experience
• Experience delivering models in churn prediction, customer segmentation, Next Best Action, and time series forecasting
