Chartered Building Surveyor – Director‑Led Consultancy
Lead meaningful refurbishment and improvement projects across our public‑sector clients’ portfolios in London. Location: Wimbledon office & London site visits
Contract: Full‑time, permanent

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Benefits: 30 days annual leave + 8 BH, profit share, 5% pension contribution, WFH Friday
OCR Surveying is a director‑led Chartered Building Surveying and Property Consultancy delivering refurbishment, improvement and maintenance projects across London and the surrounding areas. Our work is predominantly project‑led Building Surveying, covering design and specification, contract administration and project management from feasibility through to delivery on site.
We work closely with public‑sector organisations, Academy Trusts and large residential landlords, with schools, libraries and community buildings forming the majority of our current projects.
We are seeking a project‑focused Chartered Building Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects, communicating confidently with clients and contractors, and seeing work through from the first conversation to final handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead refurbishment and improvement projects from initial brief to handover
- Advise clients, diagnose defects and develop technical solutions
- Prepare feasibility studies, specifications and tender documentation
- Coordinate design information and manage procurement processes
- Administer construction contracts and chair project meetings
- Monitor progress, quality and cost, providing clear client reporting
- Manage contractors, consultants and statutory stakeholders
- Oversee completion, snagging and defects resolution
- Ensure compliance with CDM, RICS standards and client governance
- Support and mentor Graduate Surveyors as the practice grows
Qualifications
- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Experience delivering refurbishment, improvement or maintenance projects
- Experience working with clients, contractors and consultants
- Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver them independently
- Interest in both the technical and people‑focused aspects of Building Surveying
