PRINCIPAL / ASSOCIATE FIRE ENGINEER (IEng)

ATK Solutions is recruiting an experienced Principal or Associate Fire Engineer for a senior position within an established fire engineering consultancy.
This opportunity is suited to an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) currently working at Principal or Associate level who can provide technical leadership, oversee complex projects and support the continued development of a specialist fire engineering team.
The consultancy provides detailed analysis of building fire performance, including building materials, escape arrangements, occupancy profiles and existing fire safety provisions. Its services include Fire Strategies, Fire Statements, Building Regulations support and specialist fire
engineering advice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technically complex fire engineering projects from inception through to completion.
- Produce and review Fire Strategies and Fire Statements.
- Complete and oversee FRAEWs in accordance with PAS 9980.
- Review, approve and sign off technical fire engineering reports.
- Provide EWS1 forms where the required level of competence is demonstrated.
- Provide detailed technical advice on remediation and fire safety improvement projects.
- Undertake technical peer reviews and quality assurance.
- Review building materials, means of escape, occupancy characteristics and existing fire safety measures.
- Attend meetings with clients, developers and other project stakeholders.
- Explain technical methodologies, findings and recommendations clearly and confidently.
- Review team output and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Mentor and support Fire Engineers and junior technical professionals.
- Contribute to technical standards, succession planning and continuous service improvement.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Incorporated Engineer status, IEng.
- Currently operating as a Principal Fire Engineer or Associate Fire Engineer or Director level
- Experience undertaking or technically reviewing FRAEW reports.
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations and relevant fire safety legislation.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and provide technical leadership.
- Strong client-facing, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills.
PACKAGE
- £120,000 to £125,000 basic salary
