Role Description This is a full-time, BIM Technician role based in Essex or Remote. The BIM Technician will support project teams by creating, updating, and managing Building Information Models for a variety of construction and building consultancy projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include producing and coordinating construction drawings, assisting in the integration of building services and structural elements within BIM models, and ensuring models comply with project and industry standards. The role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve design clashes, maintain accurate project documentation, and contribute to efficient workflows. The BIM Technician will also help implement BIM best practices, support model-based quantity and design reviews, and provide technical input to improve project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and processes, with experience in model creation, coordination, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Architectural Technology, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems and Building Services, with the ability to integrate and coordinate these disciplines within BIM models.
- Experience producing and interpreting Construction Drawings, and collaborating with design and site teams for accurate documentation.
- Understanding of Structural Engineering principles as they relate to coordinated structural models and multidisciplinary design integration.
- Relevant technical qualification or degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Proficiency in industry-standard BIM and CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar) and familiarity with UK BIM standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a project-based environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals on-site in Greater London.
