Role Description The Apparel Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Walkden. This role is responsible for designing sports and performance apparel collections from concept through to final samples, including sketching designs, developing technical drawings, and selecting fabrics and trims. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with product development and production teams, attending fittings, reviewing samples, and making design adjustments to ensure optimal fit, performance, and style. The Apparel Designer will research trends in sports fashion, analyze competitor products, and contribute to seasonal line planning while maintaining brand consistency. The role also involves preparing design presentations, maintaining organized design files, and supporting communication with suppliers regarding materials and construction details.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, with a portfolio showcasing sports or performance apparel.
- Candidates should possess skills in Textiles and Trims selection, with an understanding of performance fabrics and garment components.
- Candidates should possess experience in Fitting and garment construction, including the ability to interpret fit feedback and adjust patterns or designs accordingly.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field are beneficial.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other CAD tools) and strong technical drawing skills are advantageous.
