We’re recruiting a
Maintenance Manager
to lead the maintenance function at a major energy facility in Birmingham.This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for
maintenance strategy, plant reliability, CMMS, outages, contractors, budgets and the development of a multidisciplinary engineering team .
The role
You’ll be responsible for:Leading and developing a team across mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenanceOwning the site
CMMS, PPM and maintenance backlogPrioritising maintenance activity with Operations based on plant risk and criticalityCoordinating breakdown response and safe return to servicePlanning and delivering outagesInvestigating recurring failures and driving root cause and reliability improvementsManaging contractors, work quality and complianceControlling maintenance spend, procurement and critical sparesManaging statutory inspections including
PSSR, LOLER and COSHHEnsuring work follows approved
Permit-to-Work and isolation proceduresSupporting plant availability and long-term asset performance
You’ll be working across plant including:Boilers | Steam systems | Turbines | Generators | Gasification / combustion systems | Conveyors | Pumps | Valves | Water treatment | Flue gas abatement | Motors | Instrumentation | Electrical distribution
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have:Proven experience as a
Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Team LeaderExperience within an
industrial process environmentStrong mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledgeExperience of
CMMS, PPM, backlog management and maintenance planningOutage planning and contractor management experienceStrong fault-finding and root cause investigation capabilityExperience managing maintenance budgets, procurement and sparesStrong leadership, coaching and team-development skillsA relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent technical experience
Experience within
Energy from Waste, power generation, biomass or a similar process plant
would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other complex industrial environments will also be considered.
