Junior Business Intelligence Analyst Fintech

Overview

As a Junior BI Analyst, you will help translate business needs into actionable data and insights. You’ll work with stakeholders to understand operations, data issues and reporting requirements, shaping how information supports decisions. You’ll develop reports, validate data, and enable self-service BI for end users. This role offers growth in a fintech-focused software environment and the chance to contribute to complex data projects in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with business analysts and stakeholders to capture data, processes, outputs, and future requirements
• Gather reporting requirements from business users and define report specifications
• Develop new reports with third-party tools and ensure functional quality through testing
• Understand third-party data models and support data migration, reconciliation, and validation
• Build and maintain data queries, dashboards and Excel-based reports with plug-ins
• Train end users in self-service BI techniques using Excel and dashboard tools
• Modify and update existing reports in live environment
• Collaborate with project team to deliver data-driven solutions in a financial services context

Key requirements

• 1+ years of hands-on BI experience (reporting, data analysis, data reconciliation, data mining)
• Knowledge of data management principles
• SQL, SSRS, and other DBMS/reporting tools
• Experience in developing ad-hoc BI dashboards with business users
• Background in financial institutions or financial services
• Experience with data migration, reconciliation and data cleansing projects
• Experience with financial software systems in a corporate environment
• Private equity/alternative investments or fund accounting exposure preferred
