Software Engineer – Edinburgh

Overview

As Software Engineer at Perk, you’ll help shape a next-generation platform that simplifies business travel management. You’ll work with product teams to design, architect and implement features in Python/Django and/or React, while integrating with external APIs. You’ll contribute to architecture, testing and CI, and mentor teammates as a domain expert. This role offers impact through scalable tooling and a strong, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

• Product development in Python/Django and/or React for a travel-related web product
• API integrations with third-party services
• System architecture design, implementation and testing
• Agile development with well-documented code, unit testing and CI
• Mentor, coach and train colleagues as a domain expert

Key requirements

• Product Engineering mindset
• Pragmatism and obsession for simplicity, efficiency, and performance
• Extensive experience in similar roles building technically complex products in any web programming language
• Expert level in server-side, client-side or full stack development
• Obsessive focus on quality and testing
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks
• Strong communication skills
• Bonus: AI coding tools usage, AI-backed features on AWS/GCP/OpenAI, travel industry experience, DevOps with AWS, open-source contributions
