Overview

In this role you will support cost management and project controls, focusing on invoice processing, cost administration, and financial reporting. You will collaborate with project, commercial, and supply chain teams to ensure costs are accurately recorded and reported. The role involves maintaining cost control systems, managing supplier invoices, and contributing to CBS/WBS alignment and forecast updates. You will work within a cross-functional environment to improve cost accuracy and governance, contributing to sustainable project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support cost control system implementation and maintenance to track budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts
  • Process, validate and reconcile supplier invoices for accuracy and contractual compliance
  • Create and maintain Cost Breakdown Structures aligned to Work Breakdown Structures
  • Set up and manage Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and requisitions for accurate cost capture
  • Monitor invoice status, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments
  • Assist in accruals and reflect costs in project reporting cycles
  • Maintain cost records and support month-end reporting and forecast updates
  • Support change control with cost and invoice information
  • Validate supplier and subcontractor cost data to improve reporting accuracy
  • Prepare cost reports, expenditure analyses, and financial summaries for project teams and management
  • Support contractual compliance including NEC and FIDIC where applicable
  • Collaborate with project controls, planning, commercial, finance, and procurement to keep cost data up to date
  • Identify and escalate cost, invoice, or payment issues impacting project performance
  • Develop knowledge of cost engineering principles, project controls processes, and industry best practices

Key requirements

  • experience or exposure to invoice processing, financial administration, cost control, or project support activities
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
  • effective written and verbal communication
  • strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • willingness to learn project controls processes including cost control, forecasting, change management, and reporting
  • understanding of data accuracy and financial governance
  • experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, energy, or project environments (desirable)
  • working toward or interest in APM or ACostE membership (desirable)
  • BPSS security clearance ability
