Our client Scottish Power Renewables are currently recruiting for an Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to join their team based in Lowestoft on a contract basis initially. Until the New year this role will be 5 days per week in the office but moving into the new year will change to a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rotation. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced OIM preferably with experience with large Offshore Wind Farms. For more information on this role see below:
Main Purpose of Job• Ensure Q&HSE policies and procedures are maintained during the offshore works• Overall analysis, recommendation and optimisation of installation and logistics concepts for the offshoreinstallation• Implement offshore installation management procedures• Ensure the installation subcontractor’s compliance with its contractual obligations, company proceduresand legislation for all marine operations, in particular lifting operations and simultaneous operations• Ensure SPR interests are protected offshore• Has real knowledge and understanding of the project structure during construction and for the role of eachperson on the project• Ensure that competent personnel are appointed to the project team• Is totally aware of the contractor’s installations on site, the contract representatives and the supervisingengineers and general all team leaders of the contractors working for the project• Is responsible to follow up the construction activity, crew transfer vessels, marine coordinator function,weather reports and forecast• Is fully aware of the location off every contractor working on the project, their accomplishments, problemsand predictions for the activities and the program• Control progress and costs of the project through continuous review of project reports including cost controlreports and schedules• Ensure orderly hand-over & close-out of the project, obtain final certificates, archive all projectdocumentation and prepare all close out documentation• Support with development of all installation related processes and documents for controlling andcoordination of the offshore site and• Daily coordination of the works between the different contractors
Key Tasks• Promoting a strong, clear and positive health and safety culture for all primary activities, and secondaryactivities including interfaces• Preparing and checking of all key installation documents• Development and management of the package installation procedures and processes• Manage all offshore quality issues and immediately communicate with the respectively parties regardingthe nature of events / incidents / problems during construction• Managing installation contracts and coordinating installation activities on site ensuring system in place torecord daily facts for the purpose of contract variations, weather allowances and incentive schemes withthe contractor• Responsible for the site personnel performance• Attend progress meetings with the installation contractor and take receipt of progress reports• Responsibility for sign off of completion certificates etc.• Ensure that the installation activities are completed to specification and schedules• Organise the project team and motivate its members towards successful achievement of specified projectgoals, particularly through regular project meetings• Assume the offshore construction manager’s responsibilities in the absence of the offshore constructionmanager• Clarification of the interferences with the involved contractors: prioritization of works if necessary refusal ofplanned works if necessary• Signing the PTWs (approval or refusal)• Daily tracking of the status of works and disrupted workflows in relation to the installation schedule• Evaluation of the run-up time monitoring/expectations and consequences to the installation schedule on aweekly basis• Planning the works of the contractors for the upcoming days/weeks to avoid interferences between thecontractors• Prepare resource allocation plan in relation to offshore installation activities• Implementation of the offshore site installation strategy, including organisation and responsibilities, meetingstructure, plans and procedures• Keep the offshore site installation strategy and offshore installation related plans updated and• Manage and secure interfaces in regard to installation and commissioning.
Key Criteria• 8 years of documented experience within construction management, preferable large scale offshore windfarm projects• 8 years of documented leadership experience• 8 years of documented experience within HSE Management and• Willing and able to travel independently to our other sites and partner sites as required.
Key Interfaces• Liaise with the installation contractor’srepresentatives• Act as an interface between all localauthorities and the contractors• Daily liaison with the package installationmanagers• H,S&E on a daily basis and• QA/QC on a daily basis..
