Responsibilities

• Lead on complex energy/utility projects with significant autonomy
• Draft, review and negotiate leases, easements, wayleaves, licences, and land acquisition documents
• Advise on land rights, title issues and access strategies
• Lead land assembly for utility projects
• Supervise and mentor junior team members
• Contribute to legal project management and client relationship management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices to deliver nationally significant mandates
• Support business development and cross-selling within the real estate practice

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
• 5+ years PQE
• Strong utility/infrastructure/energy sector experience
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of statutory undertaker rights and land law
• Experience with public sector bodies or regulated industries
• Mentor mindset and ability to develop junior lawyers
• Commercially minded team player with cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
