HV Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you design robust, efficient electrical systems for infrastructure and building projects within Ramboll’s Critical Systems team. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers to deliver technically sound, sustainable solutions and stay at the forefront of electrical engineering. You’ll engage with clients and cross-functional teams to translate needs into practical designs that meet codes and standards. Responsibilities

• Electrical system design for HV/LV power distribution, standby power, UPS and earthing; create drawings, specifications, and calculations using ETAP and Revit; ensure compliance with codes and standards
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the lifecycle
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and pursue innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact
• Engage with clients to understand needs, present concepts, and build lasting relationships with contractors and project partners
• Plan and manage electrical projects in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and cohesive solutions
• Support site inspections and assessments to verify design compliance and performance

Key requirements

• Bachelors degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Professional qualifications (e.g., IEng or pursuing Chartership)
• Proven experience in electrical design within power or building services
• Proficiency in Revit; experience with ETAP and Trimble
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards and codes
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
