Principal Civil Engineer (Water)

Overview

In this role you will lead water infrastructure initiatives within Stantec’s UK Water division, partnering with top clients to improve how communities obtain, treat, and distribute water. You will shape projects from initial need through detailed design, supporting and mentoring project teams while managing scoping, timescales, and budgets. You’ll contribute to UK-wide iconic water projects and help elevate the team through leadership and technical excellence. Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements and develop integrated water solutions from need to detailed design
• Support and manage project teams to deliver scope on time and within budget
• Produce and review technical reports and design documentation
• Contribute to UK-wide water projects and cross-location collaboration
• Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status (preferred) and member of a relevant engineering institution
• Experience in the water industry preferred
• Knowledge of Process and MEICA disciplines preferred
• Understanding of environmental issues including net carbon preferred
• Strong ability to develop solutions and manage design from scoping to delivery
• Experience in scoping and designing within required timescales and budgets
