Project Controls Manager

Overview

You will lead the project controls function for large infrastructure programmes in Scotland, shaping planning, cost and performance reporting to drive delivery. In this role you collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure realistic plans, robust data standards and efficient resource use. You’ll work on diverse sectors and high‑impact projects, contributing to safer, more efficient programmes. Responsibilities

• Lead programme controls for major infrastructure projects in Scotland
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of plans, cost, safety, environment and performance reporting
• Allocate controls resources to maximise impact
• Review new project proposals for realistic, deliverable plans
• Identify and resolve resourcing requirements in liaison with planning functions
• Provide timely reporting to Programme and Project Managers on plans, costs, safety, environment and performance
• Ensure data input meets required data standards in cost and performance systems
• Produce the Investment Plan and comply with the Investment Competence Framework

Key requirements

• Experience in planning and scheduling (schedule development, control, analysis)
• Construction infrastructure sector experience (defence, rail, aviation, highways, nuclear, power, energy, water)
• Strong oral and written communication
• Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software
• Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management
• Understanding of procurement, contracts and startup processes
