In this role you will lead advisory work for water sector clients, translating technical data into strategic insights and aligning asset management with regulatory expectations. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic asset management advice as a trusted partner to senior decision-makers
- Translate complex operational and performance data into clear insights for executives
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and AMP8 delivery expectations
- Lead delivery of asset management projects using AMCL methodologies
- Embed improved asset management processes and data-driven decision making
- Conduct asset management maturity assessments using IAM 10-box model, GFMAM and ISO standards
- Support adoption of ISO 55001:2024 with governance and lifecycle alignment
- Lead lifecycle and TotEx optimisation and develop long-term investment plans
- Develop asset health enhancement approaches from reactive to proactive management
- Deliver AMP8 framework commitments through strategic planning and resilience improvements
- Support bid preparation and contribute to sector strategy and thought leadership
Key requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in asset management, strategy & planning, reliability engineering or performance improvement
- Strong understanding of UK water regulatory landscape (Ofwat, PR14–PR24)
- Ability to interpret asset and performance data to inform decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with evidence-based recommendations
- Confident communicator engaging engineers, analysts and executives
- Collaborative mindset across AMCL, Turner & Townsend and clients
- Degree in engineering, science, or business
- IAM Certificate or Diploma or willingness to pursue it
- Experience with asset management standards and good practice (ISO 55001, GFMAM) desirable
