Financial Controller

Overview

As Entity Financial Controller, you will manage the financials of Aberdeen’s legal entities, overseeing reporting, control, and regulatory deliverables. You’ll interact with entity boards and senior leaders to drive governance and high-quality decision making. The role blends technical accounting with commercial insight to support sustainable growth and accurate financial stewardship. Responsibilities

• Own and review legal entity financial reporting and present board packs to senior stakeholders
• Maintain robust legal entity control, including monthly P&L, balance sheet substantiation, and IFRS reporting
• Oversee statutory accounts, regulatory reporting and audit activity with internal and outsourced providers
• Support technical accounting adjustments, local GAAP reporting and statutory disclosures
• Partner with planning and performance teams on forecasting, budgeting and financial decision-making
• Represent Finance in governance forums and serve as finance representative on entity boards

Key requirements

• Qualified Accountant – CA, ACCA or equivalent (essential)
• Experience in financial control, accounting, audit or commercial finance in financial services or investment management (essential)
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP and financial reporting requirements (essential)
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills (essential)
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as Oracle (essential)
