CNC Tech/Process Engineer

Overview

In this role you will apply your CNC machining expertise to aluminium diecast components, working within the process engineering environment to prove programs, optimize tooling, and maintain part quality. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to address CNC-related issues and drive improvements. You will train and mentor setter/operators, oversee safe working practices, and implement TPM and 5S to sustain efficient operations. This position offers hands-on technical challenges in a high-speed 5-axis context with opportunities to influence process capability and documentation. Responsibilities

• Support production on a daily basis and manage CNC machine performance and diagnostics
• Commission new fixtures and cutting tools; prove new programs
• Monitor part quality and adjust machining offsets for process capability
• Develop and maintain process documentation and SWIs; set procedures and standards
• Drive TPM and 5S; promote HSE policies across the department
• Train, mentor, and guide setters/operators on safe and correct operation
• Change tools, track tool life, investigate tool breakages
• Troubleshoot machining issues and respond to non-conformances
• Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and alignment to casting
• Other duties as directed by Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers

Key requirements

• Apprentice served or formal college certification
• Proven CNC machine setting in a JIT production environment
• 5 axis high speed machining of aluminium castings
• Problem-solving techniques
• Programming G&M codes, preferably Siemens controllers
• Strong tooling & fixture design principles
• Delivery of training
