Commercial Lead – Rail Bristol (Will Lodge)

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management on major projects for a first-tier contractor
• Produce and negotiate claims
• Apply NEC/ICE/NR type contracts and interpret construction law
• Maintain financial controls to monitor costs and value of work
• Collaborate with project teams on key decisions affecting outcomes
• Develop and sustain client relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery
• Support the project team in achieving project financial and contractual goals

Key requirements

• Commercial management experience on major projects for a first-tier contractor
• Experience with claims production and negotiation
• Experience using NEC, ICE, NR9/12 contracts
• Strong understanding of construction law
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisation and time management
• Experience working with project teams and stakeholders
• Degree in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management or similar
• RICS membership
• At least 10 years’ experience in civil engineering with main contractor; rail preferred
