Overview
As a multi-skilled Shift Engineer in our Wisbech site, you will maintain and optimise packaging and production equipment to ensure safe, high-quality manufacturing. You will work within the reliability maintenance team to drive improvements and support cross-functional collaboration. This role blends hands-on maintenance with continuous improvement to sustain asset performance and product quality. Responsibilities
- Maintain machinery condition and perform improvements; repair breakdowns
- Drive safety culture and eliminate workplace risks
- Ensure products meet quality standards
- Lead continuous improvements across key operations
- Collaborate with Maintenance Working Groups (MWG) and Autonomous Working Groups (AWG) to implement improvements using inspections, root-cause analysis, centerlining, and preventive/predictive maintenance
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Passion for continuous improvement and process enhancements
- Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance practices
- Strong problem-solving skills (root cause analysis)
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and TPM
- Mechanical comprehension and awareness of food safety standards
