Senior Supply Chain Manager

Overview

In this senior procurement role you will own strategic tenders and key supplier relationships to influence commercial outcomes. You’ll shape category strategies, negotiate contracts, and drive resilience with critical suppliers, while turning spend data into actionable insights for leadership. You’ll work with a small, senior procurement team and report to leadership, shaping how the function operates. This is a chance to impact governance, supplier strategy, and long-term resilience within a procurement-focused organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and business-critical tenders end to end, from requirements shaping to contract award
• Build category strategies for key spend areas based on market analysis and business demand
• Lead commercial negotiations including contract variations and price reviews
• Strengthen resilience across strategic suppliers (financial stability, cyber risk, business continuity, exit planning)
• Turn spend, performance, and risk data into commercial insights for senior stakeholders
• Coach colleagues across procurement and contract management to raise team capability

Key requirements

• Significant experience in procurement, category management, or commercial supply chain
• Experience leading strategic or business-critical tenders with meaningful outcomes
• Track record managing complex contracts, strategic suppliers, and third-party governance
• CIPS qualified, or on the way to it
• Confidence to build trust with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively
