CDM Recruitment is working with a major engineering and manufacturing business in Newcastle to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician.

This is a hands-on electrical maintenance role working across a substantial manufacturing site, covering reactive and preventative maintenance, breakdowns, electrical fault finding and equipment improvement.

The shift pattern is a major benefit: five 12-hour day shifts and five 12-hour night shifts across a 21-day cycle, giving you 15 days off in every 21 with no weekend working.

The role:

• Reactive, planned and preventative electrical maintenance
• Electrical fault finding and breakdown response
• Maintenance of manufacturing and production equipment
• Fault finding on electrical control systems, motors, sensors and associated equipment
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Root cause analysis and equipment reliability improvements
• Supporting machinery installation and commissioning
• Continuous improvement and downtime reduction
• PLC fault finding and diagnostics where required

What we’re looking for:

• Time-served Electrical Maintenance Technician / Electrical Maintenance Engineer
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
• Maintenance experience within manufacturing, production or engineering
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills
• Experience fault finding on industrial machinery and control systems
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
• PLC fault-finding/diagnostic experience advantageous
• HNC or equivalent advantageous
