CLOUD NATIVE DEVOPS ENGINEER – AWS / NATIONAL SECURITY

THE ROLE
A leading technology organisation is expanding its Cloud & DevOps engineering team and is looking for experienced Cloud Native DevOps Engineers to join their team in Cheltenham / Gloucester.
You’ll work on mission-critical systems within secure environments, designing, building and managing AWS cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on automation, scalability, security and resilience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build and manage AWS environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Automate cloud infrastructure and deployment processes
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes
- Monitor system performance, availability and security
- Implement observability and logging best practices
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and optimise cloud deployments
- Work within an Agile environment alongside technical teams and stakeholders
- ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong commercial experience with AWS
- Experience working in secure cloud environments
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience – Terraform, CloudFormation or Pulumi
- Hands-on CI/CD experience – GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD or similar
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell
- Understanding of AWS networking – VPCs, subnets and security groups
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or CloudWatch
- Understanding of Zero Trust security principles
- Strong troubleshooting and cloud optimisation experience
- CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
DV Clearance is required for this position.
Candidates must have resided continuously within the UK for the last 10 years to meet the stated DV residency requirement, alongside the other relevant DV eligibility criteria.
Some positions may also have additional nationality restrictions due to the nature of the work.
