A major infrastructure project is currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join the team on the Lower Thames Crossing, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity for a Section Engineer with strong civil engineering experience to work on a major infrastructure programme, overseeing site engineering activities across gas diversions, drainage and enabling works associated with the A13, including works involving 22 bridges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing setting out activities using Total Station
- Managing and reviewing 3-week lookahead programmes
- Managing permits and ensuring works are appropriately authorised
- Completing material and quantity take-offs
- Mentoring and supporting Site Engineers
- Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and the wider engineering team
- Supporting the delivery of gas diversion, drainage and enabling works
- Ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements
- Monitoring progress and resolving engineering issues on site
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Section Engineer on major civil engineering/infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out experience using Total Station
- Experience with drainage and enabling works
- Experience working around utilities/gas diversions would be advantageous
- Ability to manage 3-week lookaheads, permits and take-offs
- Experience mentoring or supporting Site Engineers
- SMSTS is required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work 10-hour days, Monday to Friday
