The Role
This role is responsible for leading the 2nd Line IT Service Desk team, driving performance, supporting individual development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will oversee day-to-day service delivery, manage escalations, coordinate team workloads, and provide project support to ensure the successful delivery of ongoing IT initiatives. This role covers the implementation, management, maintenance, improvement and ownership for most of our systems including onsite servers, clients, and cloud resources.
- To set and maintain high standards for incident and request management, ensuring routine reviews with the team and adherence to process.
- Drive operational efficiency through process optimisation, automation, and the implementation of robust documentation and knowledge management practices.
- Collaborate with the wider IT Operations team to support infrastructure initiatives, project delivery, and effective escalation management.
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance the performance, availability, and security of Microsoft platforms and associated IT systems.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex incidents, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact the business.
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and contribute to ITIL-based Change and Release Management processes.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices, sharing knowledge and training colleagues to support continual improvement.
The Person
The role includes ownership of certain systems and platforms and therefore requires technical knowledge and experience of implementing and troubleshooting.
- Strong working knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services (ADUC/DNS/DHCP/CA/GPO), Windows Client management, PowerShell, Linux, Networking and Wireless Technologies.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365 & Office 365 Services and Administration, Microsoft Azure Knowledge, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Configuration Manager/SCCM).
- Virtualisation using VMware vSphere.
- Desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communicator with an ability to work under pressure.
- Strong team ethic and can-do attitude.

BWT Alpine Formula One Team competes in the FIA Formula One World Championship with Grand Prix winner Pierre Gasly and rising star Franco Colapinto. The two drivers, under the leadership of Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore and Managing Director Steve Nielsen and piloting the revolutionary Alpine A526, are driving forward the team’s charge during a highly competitive Formula One season. The team operates out of its Enstone factory in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, where it has been based since 1992, in its previous guises as Benetton Formula, Renault F1 Team and Lotus F1 Team. Enstone has a winning legacy with seven Formula One World Championships including the Drivers’ World Championship (1994, 1995, 2005 and 2006) with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, and the Constructors’ World Championship (1995, 2005 and 2006). The team’s 2026 car, the A526, is designed and built on-site with the 1000-strong workforce working hard towards the new opportunities presented in the 24-race season. Fast forward nearly 70 years, and Alpine is now at the forefront of motor racing, competing alongside the elite in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and the World Endurance Championship as well as many other motorsport disciplines. The original A110 road car was introduced in 1962 and, by the early 1970s, Alpine was a major force in topflight rally competition.
