About the job Maternity Nurse | Northwood, Greater London

Position Type: Daily (live-out) maternity nurse, three month contractLocation: Northwood, HA6 (30 minutes from Baker Street on the Metropolitan line)Salary: £300 to £400 per day, depending on experienceSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-7pm (October will not include Fridays)Start Date: ASAP

A family based in Northwood are seeking an experienced daily maternity nurse to support them with their baby girl, who is six weeks old. The role runs for three months on a daily, live-out basis, Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, with the option of extending the contract for longer.

The family already have night cover in place. A midwife and a doula share the nights between them, so this position is purely daytime. The focus is on the day: feeding support, naps and settling, and giving the parents a steady, confident pair of hands while they find their feet with a newborn. Someone who is warm and kind, and able to support mum throughout the day in a collaborative and supportive way.

This is a hands-on role with a young baby, so alongside the care itself the family would expect the usual nursery duties, baby laundry, sterilising, keeping the baby’s things in order, and clear handovers so everyone is working to the same routine.

Northwood is quiet and green, well connected into central London on the Metropolitan line, roughly 30 minutes from Baker Street. There are no pets in the home. The family would ideally like a driver, as a car makes the local area far easier to get around.

There is also some interest in additional night cover in the coming weeks. One of the night team is away for a month, which leaves a gap on some nights, and the family have one Friday a week committed through October. If night work is of interest alongside the day role, or instead of it, please say so when applying.

Requirements

  • Strong maternity nurse or newborn specialist experience, ideally with first babies
  • Confident with feeding support, sleep and routine building
  • Comfortable working alongside a night team and handing over clearly
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Paediatric first aid
  • Contactable references from previous newborn roles
  • Full driving licence preferred but not mandatory
