Programme Manager – Advanced Engineering

White Label Recruitment is working exclusively with a growing, technology-led engineering and manufacturing business in East Yorkshire to recruit a Programme Manager for a major international programme.
This is a significant appointment within the business, taking end-to-end ownership of a $16m+ engineering programme through development, testing, industrialisation and multi-year production.
It’s also broader than delivering one programme successfully. The business is going through a period of growth and investment, and this person will play an important role in strengthening how major programmes are managed across the organisation, introducing greater structure, visibility and control as the business continues to scale.
The role
You’ll take overall responsibility for programme performance, working across Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance.
You’ll have ownership of programme delivery, budget and P&L, milestones, risk and customer commitments, while acting as a key interface with senior internal and international stakeholders.
A major part of the role will be taking a complex engineered product through the full lifecycle – from engineering and development, through testing and into repeatable production.
You’ll also help develop the programme framework around the project, ensuring the right governance, reporting and controls are in place without creating unnecessary process.
Who we’re looking for
This isn’t a step-up Programme Manager position. We need someone who can demonstrate that they have already successfully led a significant, technically complex programme and can clearly evidence what they personally owned and delivered.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven ownership of a major engineering or manufacturing programme
- Experience within a technology-led engineering environment
- Strong commercial awareness, including significant budget and ideally P&L responsibility
- Experience taking physical engineered products through development and into manufacture/production
- Cross-functional leadership across engineering, manufacturing and operational teams
- Strong programme governance, risk, milestone and resource management
- The ability to influence and bring people with you, including where you don’t have direct authority
- Experience working within a growing or changing engineering/manufacturing business
A Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering background would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
Defence, naval or maritime experience would also be useful, but we’re deliberately keeping the search broader. We’re interested in people from advanced engineering, energy, oil & gas, renewables, automotive and other complex engineering or manufacturing environments.
The opportunity
This is a high-profile role with genuine ownership and visibility across the business. You’ll have the opportunity not only to deliver a major international programme, but to influence how the organisation manages future programmes as it continues to grow.
Longer term, there is also potential for the role to develop into broader senior leadership responsibility within the business.
The position will be based in East Yorkshire, with travel between local sites and occasional international travel, typically around once or twice per quarter.
Salary: £80,000+ depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.
You must be a UK national and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
