Senior Scala Data Engineer – 6 Month Contract Location: London – Hybrid Duration: 6 months Rate: £530 – £580 per day insideIR35 Clearance: SC Clearance required

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scala Data Engineer with active SC Clearance to join a team developing secure, high-volume and highly available backend services and APIs supporting fraud detection and data integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, secure and low-latency backend services.
• Develop clean, testable Scala code and REST APIs.
• Work with databases and AWS services.
• Improve and modernise existing applications and services.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and data engineers.
• Support production services and contribute to incident resolution.
• Work within an Agile & Continuous Integration.

• Scala
• Play Framework or MVC/REST API frameworks
• SQL / Databases
• AWS
• Continuous Integration
• Agile methodologies
• API design and development
• Testing and automation
• Production support / SRE awareness
• SC Security Clearance

It would be an added advantage if you had any of the following: Jenkins / Kibana / Airflow / Docker / Containerisation / Grafana.
