Technical Sales Trainer
to lead, standardise, and elevate the performance of our Surveying and Field Sales team across all regional hubs. Reporting directly to the
National Sales Manager , you will be responsible for bridging the gap between technical loft surveying expertise and consultative sales performance.In this role, you will design and deliver practical training programs that empower our surveyors to act as trusted advisors. You will coach team members on accurate technical site assessments, clear customer communication, product upselling, and closing sales ethically and effectively in the home.Note: You do not need prior experience as a formal Sales Trainer. If you have a solid background in residential surveying, field sales, or technical trades—combined with a natural ability to coach and lead others—we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Enablement & Coaching:
Deliver practical classroom, field, and 1-on-1 coaching focused on consultative selling, handling customer objections, upselling products (boarding, ladders, insulation, hatch upgrades), and improving conversion rates.Technical Survey Standardisation:
Train new and existing surveyors on conducting thorough, accurate loft space evaluations, structural suitability checks, and safe measurement protocols.Onboarding & Induction:
Structure and run onboarding programs for newly hired surveyors and field sales representatives, ensuring rapid time-to-productivity.Field Accompaniments & Audits:
Spend regular time in the field alongside surveyors, auditing sales pitches, identifying skill gaps, and providing real-time constructive feedback.Sales & Quality Metrics:
Work closely with the National Sales Manager to track key performance indicators (KPIs), including survey conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and survey accuracy.Training Content Development:
Build engaging training materials, quick-reference field guides, and digital learning assets that align with Instaloft’s operational standards and commercial goals.What We Are Looking ForTrade, Surveying, or Field Sales Background:
Practical knowledge of residential building/trade work, loft installations, or technical home surveys.Commercial Mindset:
Strong understanding of consultative selling, customer service, and overcoming sales objections without high-pressure tactics.Coaching Capability:
A passion for developing people, with demonstrated ability to mentor, present, or lead team members.Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills—able to connect with field teams, customers, and senior management alike.Flexibility & Mobility:
