Bedford Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Our Care team.

You will support Looked After Children aged 0–18, including separated migrant children, helping to ensure their safety, wellbeing and long-term outcomes.

The role will involve:

• Care planning and achieving permanency for children and young people
• Supporting positive education, health and social outcomes
• Undertaking statutory social work responsibilities
• Advocating for children and young people
• Working closely with families and partner agencies
• Supporting separated migrant children where required
• Promoting the council’s Parenting Together approach

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration
• Essential: Experience working with Looked After Children
• Experience with separated migrant children is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of statutory children’s social care
• Excellent partnership-working and communication skills

Rate: £39.31 per hour
