Education required: Politics, English, Marketing or similar
Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI ( Republic of Ireland ) University for the duration of your placement.

The Role

Overview of the Department
Barnard Castle is a key secondary site for GSK with a large number of New Products coming through development at site. We manufacture and supply a huge range of different pharmaceutical products from Sterile Products (Syringes and Vials) to Liquid Inhalations and Dermatological.
Key Placement Learnings
- Work as a member of the continuous improvement team (known as the GPS – GSK Production System team) who use industry standard LEAN / 6-Sigma methodologies to fix problems and make improvements throughout the business.
- Every department on the site is a potential customer, but our key relationships are with our Operations, Laboratory, Engineering and Supply Chain colleagues .
- Support day to day operations and communications in a key manufacturing site
- Working in a safe and compliant manner.
- Exposure to this high volume and fast paced environment will build a great understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and business improvement to secure and sustain the site strategy for the future.
